At Startup Production, our mission is to empower small businesses through transparent, educational, and practical digital marketing solutions. We help business owners understand their online presence, build strong brands, and grow with confidence by providing honest guidance, thoughtful strategy, and services designed to create long-term success—without confusion, control, or unnecessary complexity.

Our Philosophy

We strive to be more than a vendor—we become a true partner to the businesses we serve. We take pride in our work, and it shows in the results we deliver. By keeping our overhead low, we’re able to provide high-quality services without passing unnecessary costs on to our clients. We don’t rely on flashy showrooms, oversized offices, or unnecessarily excessive staffing. Instead, we’re hardworking local professionals who value substance over spectacle and take genuine satisfaction in a job done right. We proudly support local by hiring right here in Kentucky and the US—we support local because we are local.

Our goal is always to find the best solution for each company’s size, needs, and budget. We focus on delivering affordable, practical options that provide the functionality and design a business needs at the time—without overbuilding or overspending.

How it Started and How it's Thriving

Started with a vision. Sustained by grit.

1989-1996

Worked offering administrative, human resources, bookkeeping and business management on a temporary or part-time basis for various companies in the construction, education, transportation, healthcare and insurance industries.

1997

Starting building sites for family and friends while still attending school at SUNY Dutchess Campus.

1999

Finished school and began building a graphic design/web design business as a side hustle, while managing a conglomerate business for an artist, entrepreneur, idea-maker and woman business owner in Cold Spring, NY (art gallery, auction house, 5000+ square foot multivendor antique store, online antique and collectibles store, and book publishing). Working with Ellen Hayden for over ten years, I learned so much about strength, courage, never doubting even your craziest ideas, multitasking and enjoying what you do. Her example, even though now retired, still inspires me.

2003

Welcomed the beautiful blessing of the birth of my son, Jonah, with my husband Rick.

2005

Moved to Richmond KY. While working for a CPA, doing bookkeeping as a QuickBooks advisor for equestrian-related businesses, I was also rebuilding my web and graphic design business in a new location, with a new set of rules, and an entirely new demographic.

2008-2014

Startup Production was no longer a side hustle, but a thriving and growing solopreneur business with a team of local subcontractors, expanded services, a large portfolio of completed projects, happy and loyal clients, and a passion to serve the community. I was privileged to serve on various boards, local chamber committees, business membership groups, with a special focus on professional women associations. I also received many invitations to speak at various business groups on website design, internet marketing, and social media marketing.

2013

I was awarded the Winner of 2013 Founders’ Award by Business Babes of Madison County KY.

2015

I was awarded the 2015 Kentucky Home-Based Small Business Advocate of the Year by the US Small Administration (SBA) of Kentucky

2018-2020

With pressures of the economy, a lawsuit, and family issues, an intentional and organic slowing down occurred, while still serving my existing clients and taking on various new projects. This was a time of learning, resetting, refining, rebooting and realizing of what is truly important.

2020-2023

For many the COVID-19 pandemic hit small businesses hard, for me the opposite happened, as brick-and-mortar businesses were transforming their product/service offerings to an online environment, so all the downslide of the past 18 months was not only recovered but exceeded. Yet I kept close the life lessons I had gained during those tough days, and expanded my volunteer work to help others in these difficult days.

2024-2025

With a well-proportioned balance of work/life/volunteering, which has taken me more than 20 years to accomplish, has brought me great peace of mind, reestablished priorities, fulfillment of accomplishment and the confidence to declare what is my version of success when it comes to my business. Serving my clients in an honest, dedicated and transparent way has never been undermined by the pitfalls of my journey, I just now take on what I can accomplish and manage stress by keeping things into perspective. When you step back and ask, “Will this matter in a year?” or “Is this within my control?” stress begins to loosen its grip.

2026
